Direct Sclerotherapy (Microsclerotherapy)

Direct Sclerotherapy (Microsclerotherapy)

This refers to the treatment of visible veins using a sclerosant solution by directly injecting a small amount into the vein. The veins usually suitable for this treatment are the spider veins (telangiectasia) and surrounding linear blue/green veins (reticular veins). As in the case of ultrasound guided sclerotherapy, the solution used induces closure of the injected veins through setting off a reaction process.
